Happy New Year!
We here at Northland Runner hope all of you had an enjoyable New Year. With the holiday festivities behind us, it's time to start thinking about the upcoming race season. We are currently working on gathering race information for 2010. We have many major races listed already, and we hope to get as much information as we can about small-town races in the next couple weeks. If we listed a race last year, you can be sure we are contacting the event director to get the 2010 info. If you know of a new race or one we did not list last year, feel free to e-mail Kris at kris@northlandrunner.com.

November 22, 2009: 3rd Annual Barely Organized New Year's Day Run

3rd Annual Barely Organized New Years Day Run
Start the new year out right with a run (walk, bike, or snowshoe) on the single-track trails at Hartley Park.
When: January 1st, 2010; 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Where: Hartley Nature Center

Potluck to follow the run (hot water will be provided, no cooking facilities available, limited outlets for crockpots, etc).
Donations accepted to cover the cost of facility rental.

November 17, 2009: Nancy English Results
The Dr. Nancy English Memorial 5k Run/Walk took place Saturday, November 14th at Park Point in Duluth. The top men were David Hyöppönen (17:13), Erik Crook (17:39), Kyle Rossow (17:41), and Dan Freeman (17:43). The women were led by Marlo McGaver (19:00), Amanda Lepisto (20:19), Sara Hollingsworth (21:42), and Tanya Thompson (22:04). Additional awards were given out for racers who finished in the 25th percentile, 50th percentile, 75th percentile, and 100th percentile (see below). Complete results are available at the race website and Northland Runner. If you won an award and have not received it yet, you may pick it up at The Athlete's Foot after Friday.
