From the Back of the Pack

Eve
Eve

I might always be in the back of the running pack, but I'm addicted to it! When I miss more than a day it affects my energy, attitude, and the rest of life in general! I have had a lot of "character" building runs in the deep snow, extreme nose hair freezing cold, ankle high rain, and gale force winds over the past twenty five years and find some of those days to be the most peaceful rewarding outings of all! I'm one of those runners who is slow and steady, but goes forever and ever without ever getting tired.

August 21, 2008: baton coach?

I'm baffled...both the men and women dropped the baton...sweat?  nervousness?

Any thoughts?

August 19, 2008: HELP??

I am wondering if anyone can help me...due to the massive budget cuts of the park system, the city is not allowing any more permits until after 2009 for anything!!!

November 15th the family of the late Dr. Nancy English, Barbara Reyelts and myself are hoping to put the first annual 5k on in her memory.  We are working out the details and had hoped to use Park Point as a route because it was her favorite.

I emailed the city and then Donny who just said no...nothing...no police to help...no buildings will be open...nothing can be done...the city will not help in any way shape or form...

Sooooo....any  ideas?  Any good road routes the COUNTY owns?  Any loopholes?  Any connections?  Keeping in mind that snow may be a factor?  Anyone know the rules of Duluth?  I  have done this in Cloquet and the Twin Cities and it was easy...!

August 17, 2008: Mystery Picture

Can you identify where this mystery picture was taken?  I took it and thought...hmmmm...shouldn't all good NCTM runners be able to identify it?  They run by it at least once a year!  At my pace I can actually see it...Sam probably goes by so quickly it's just a  blur though!

It's on one of our routes...!  Can you figure out which one?

July 30, 2008: Fix everything?

Have you ever had one of those periods of time in your life where you were just sure a "black cloud" had settled over your head for awhile? I just went through one and without going into the details, let me just say there were 4 pretty major negative unprovoked, unexpected experiences I had ...two within three days the other a week later.

I tried everything...running, hanging out with friends, doing activities, and a ton more...it just did not seem to help make me feel better...I needed something more. This is what I did...my first one...I am no longer a tattoo virgin.
