Hello, I have been running for About 5 years now! I live up on the Iron Range and do the majority of my runs up here, though I do run in races all over. I have run 8 marathons, and a few Half Marathons! Lately my focus has been on getting in more Half Marathons, because after running my first one in June 2012, I decided I loved the distance! Running is a huge part of my life, and I plan on doing it for many years to come. I love participating in races, they are always such a fun time and you can meet many interesting people at each event. I have met several runners over the years and have heard many interesting stories about their runs, and places they have traveled! Running is a great hobby that I feel most people can do, for me it is about competing with myself, and staying healthy at the same time!

June 2, 2012: Still here, still running!

I just wanted everyone to know I am still here and I am still running, I am just not writing about it as often as I should! Now that everyone is relieved that I am ok I can get down to where I'm at in my running. I just finished my 20 miler 10 days ago and am in taper mode, my favorite part, and I am going to be running the Minneapolis half marathon tomorrow morning. I have never actually run a half officially so I figured this one will be the one, and it will also be part of my training as well.

My training went pretty good for Grandmas I did my 18 mile run with my buddy Andy in Babbitt and that was a nice change of scenery. That run went really well, but the 20 miler was a bit more demanding mentally and physically, but I pushed through it. They were both the same pace, I just was not feeling it the morning of the twenty. I'm glad I got the rough one out of the way in training, and I hope Grandmas goes smoothly!

As for tomorrow being my first official half I am guaranteed a PR and I look forward to blogging about that in about six months or so! I think that is about my average lately for getting blogs in, I'm glad Kris does not impose any penalties like laps around the gym or something for lack of blogging!

Best of luck, Harry! On your half-marathon and at Grandma's. Will be out there pullin' for ya' at mile 18.

Kris doesn't impose penalties, but he does dock your pay...

Glad to see you're still kickin', Harry.  How'd the Minneapolis half go?  I told Andy he should bring you down to the NMTC runs sometime.  There aren't any penalities for lack of blogging because I got sick of running laps.

I've definitely noticed the docked pay! Half went good, I really liked the half right when I was wining it was over it was. Hoping the weather is nice and cool on Saturday so that I'm not looking too rough around 18, hope to see you there Ron. The half went good Kris, I decided I really like halfs, right when I was starting to think it would be great to be done running the finish line was coming up! I plan on doing more halfs. Andy kept asking but I always had something going one, but I am hoping to participate in the fall series. You have a good point Kris you would be running your fair share of laps haha!
