    Description: The Itasca Runner's Club meets regularly September through May. Runners meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month @ 6:00pm in the YMCA MPR. This club puts on the Woodtick 12K each year. There is no fee. Runners of all skill levels are welcome. You do not have to be a member of the YMCA to participate.

    Description: The North Superior Ski and Run Club maintains the Pincushion Mountain Trail System. The trails are located two miles north of Grand Marais and offer views of Lake Superior and Devils Track Canyon. It is free to run the trails although donations are encouraged. The club organizes the Fisherman's Picnic 5-Mile Trail Run in August.

    Description: A new weekly event at Giants Ridge Recreation Area for runners. This is a new club meeting for the first time on Saturday Morning April 18, 2015 at 9am. We will meet in front of the Rental Shop at Giants Ridge on Saturday mornings. Running options include running on the cross country trails or on the paved Mesabi Trail. You can run as far and as long at whatever pace you like. This is our first year - all runners are welcome! Bring a friend and meet new friends.
    These runs are not supported so bring your own water and nutrition.  Looking forward to meeting you on April 18 at The Ridge! As part of the running club it is asked that you sign a Giants Ridge waiver. Oh, and this is a free event. Just come on out and “Run the Ridge”.  
  • Run for Your Life

    Description: Run for Your Life is a structured training program run during the summer months. John Wagner, Eveleth-Gilbert's experienced cross-country coach designs running programs appropriate for each runner's goals. "Run for your life" is also great for you walkers as well. This program is geared towards runners ten years old and up. The program includes group runs and weight training 3 days a week and individual running the rest of the week. Group runs meet at the Big Aspen Trails. All skill levels are welcome. The cost is $25 for Mesabi YMCA members and $30 for non-members.

    Description: The Indianhead Track Club is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization whose purpose is to promote health and fitness by sponsoring running and walking activities for people of all ages, fitness levels and abilities.

    Our Mission:

    1. Support and Encouragement. We support and encourage the broadest possible range of runners, walkers, and anyone interested in running. We invite everyone, both members and non-members, to participate in our activities.

    2. Club Races. We organize races throughout the year in a low-key, fun environment. We strive to make our races runner-friendly, walker-friendly, well managed, and affordable.

    3. Club Membership. We encourage everyone to contribute to the sport of running and walking and to help carry out the club’s mission by joining as a club member. The benefits of becoming a member include special, members-only entry fee for races, lower prices on club apparel, discounts at local running stores, our annual awards banquet, our bi-monthly newsletter, and weekly email bulletins.

    Description: The New Richmond Running Club is open to everyone who enjoys running. There are no fees or costs involved to be a member of the New Richmond Running Club. If you show up to are a member! The club consists of all abilities from beginner to ultra marathoner. The running club also has group training runs for upcoming races from 5k to the marathon. Long runs are weekly. These vary from 6 miles to 24 miles. The courses run by the club can be from 3 miles to 12 miles in loop succession. Our newly paved trail system within the city limits of New Richmond, WI provides a safe and comfortable running experience.     Description: RRCA Certified Coach Tony Stensland will guide you through a 22 week training program. You'll follow a training plan, gain advice, receive loads of information and get to take advantage of a large, fun group to train with. 
    The Training Group will begin on January 19th at 5:30pm at Duluth Running Co. There will be an informational meeting on January 12th at 5:30pm at the store.
    Cost is $100. You may register at Duluth Running Co. or online.
  • DRC Gobble Gallop 5k Training Group

    The Gobble Gallop 5K Training Group is designed to get people ready to run the Gobble Gallop 5K. The training program goes from October 5th to November 26th. All ages, genders, and abilities welcome! Past groups have seen father-daughter pairs, high school students, new parents, and retirees.

    We will have an informational meeting and short run/walk on October 5th at Duluth Running Co. at 5:30pm. This is great time to ask questions and meet the coaches.

    Members can choose one of the two training plans:

    Very Beginner: A “Couch-to-5K” style run/walk program that is designed for the beginning runner or for someone coming back to running after an extended break (a year or more). Members choosing this plan will run twice weekly with the group and once on their own, gradually building up from the run/walk structure to mostly running at the conclusion of the program.

    Advanced Beginner: A basic 5K training plan that works best for someone who has been running for at least 3 months, or has successfully completed the “Very Beginner” plan. It fits well for those looking for a more structured training plan or those hoping to improve their speed, endurance, or 5K time. This group will be introduced to speed workouts structured to improve overall speed, endurance, and strength while running. Those who choose this plan will run twice weekly with the group and twice on their own.

    Group enrollment cost is $40 and includes:

    * Choice of training program
    * 2 group runs per week, meeting Monday and Thursday evenings at 5:30PM from Duluth Running Co.

    Description: This Summer Duluth Running Co. is introducing a trail running training group! Modeled after our hugely popular Marathon and Half Marathon Training Groups, the new trail running group will focus on developing trail running abilities, confidence and fitness.

    The group will begin on Thursday, July 16th and end on Thursday September 24th. We will meet 3 times per week, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30pm and Saturday mornings at 7:00am. Trail runs will take place at several different area locations including Jay Cooke State Park, Hartley, Chester, Bagley, Lester and more.

    The Duluth Running Co. Trail Running Group is open to runners of all abilities and experience levels. The group will be a fun and positive place to meet fellow runners and explore local trails. We will begin the group with drills to improve agility and strength for trail running and work our way up to more technical trail running as the group progresses.

    If you want to learn how to navigate our local trail systems with the support of a group, and want to see more of the local parks and trails, then this will be a great group for you. Join us for an amazing Summer of trail running in the best trail town in the country!

    Description: 5K Training-The Y Run a 5K Training Group consists of a 10 week training program to get you race-ready for your next 5K. Whether it is your first 5K or you have a few races under your belt, this group will help you achieve your goals, whether it’s to shave off some time or to just complete the race.

    There is an Information Meeting February 21st at 5:30pm.

    Half and Full Marathon Training - 
    Get ready for Grandma’s Marathon with the Y!  We’re here to help you train so that you cross that finish line June 2017! Three group runs a week.

  • Northern Minnesota Track Club

    Description: The Northern Minnesota Track Club puts on two trail race series - one in the spring, and one in the fall. The races are hilly, challenging, and run on some of the Duluth area's most scenic trails. Runners of all skill levels participate, and it is a great way to meet fellow runners. The cost for each race is $1. The race schedule is decided in late March and can be found at the Duluth Running Co and Austin-Jarrow shoe store. The races are also posted on the Northland Runner race calendar.

    Description: Join the North Shore Striders (NSS) - one of the oldest but hippest running clubs in the Upper Midwest! After a 23-year hiatus, the running club that started the world famous Grandma’s Marathon is up and running again.   • Upper Midwest Trail Runners

    Description: The Upper Midwest Trail Runners (UMTR) is an organization for anyone who likes to run off-road.  Some of us are serious ultra runners. Others are recreational runners who seldom, if ever, enter a race.  We want to encourage more people to run trails and enjoy themselves before, during, and after runs.  The UMTR sponsors of a number of fun and challenging racing series with distances ranging from 5K to ultra-marathon.  Other activities include participation in trail maintenance, low-key fun runs, and promotion of trail resources, races and running throughout the upper Midwest.

    Description: Tortoise and Hare’s from “Zilch to 5k” program is designed to introduce (or reintroduce) people to the sport of running fitness as a lifelong activity and prepare them to complete a 5k race at their own pace and injury free! We will get you in tiptop shape for a mid June to mid July 5k.  The first meeting is April 10th, 2012.
