January 3, 2012: Runner Articles
Two artcles about area runners appeared recently in the press. Eve Stein wrote an article about Gene Curnow in Silent Sports on January 1st. Eve touches on what Gene has meant to the running community through the years and his recovery from cardiac arrest last fall. Also, Rick Lubbers has an article about Mark Stodghill in today's Duluth News Tribune. Mark recently participated in and, even more impressively, completed the Savage 7, a seven-day endurance event in Florida where participants complete a marathon every day.

I was very impressed with Eve's article! She really captured the Gene we know and love very well!
Thanks Kandi! I did make one mistake which the editor was able to correct online but not in the actual publication. I put down 11/11/11 instead of 9/11/11...only one person noticed and said something...if people are able to get to the actual publication, the editor's letter mentions Gene and there is another person who had a similar positive outcome!
