May 9, 2010: Moose Run Recap

Submitted by Rick Bothwell

The 2010 Moose Run entertained 315 runners with their guests. The temps were perfect for running...but a bit cold for Lisa M. in her multi layers. It looked like rain but the drops held off. We even saw the sun peak out. The pictures show the overall winners. You can see victory in all the smiling faces. The top 5k runners were Jacob Gran (18:44) and Katie Ring (21:31). The top 10k runners were Kyle Smith (36:00) and Leslie Semler (40:16). The best costume was Nick Prachar, edging out the ever colorful Duane Coil and the somewhat flushed Rick Bothwell by an antler. The Bone Marrow Drive was a great success, registering 27 potential donors and raising about $700. The consessions raised money for the new park playground equipment in memory of Peyton Chandler.

Thanks. Race Directors, Byron & Becky Kuster are great organizer and leaders. We all have fun working for them.

We loved seeing all the Northland Runners come to the event. Next time I will have to make sure Craig Blacklock meets Shelly.

Yes, it would mean alot to me to have the honor of meeting Mr. Blacklock! Someone very special introduced me to his photos and I've been a fan ever since....

I love Sam and Leslie's picture as well! Les, I think maybe you need to eat a little more....I can almost see right through you!  ;-)   Congrats to you both on doing so well! And Mr B, congrats to you for registering so many donors!

Thanks for a fun day!

Thanks for such a well organized event. The 10k course was great and fast. And the tailwind for half of the race was much appreciated.
